I can’t believe that today was Day 100 of Campaign Smile. It goes so fast when you’re doing your part to bring joy to the world. Here is how I helped today…
1. At lunch today both girls that were working the restaurant offered small smiles that said they were expected to do so. Even so, I believe that, real of fake, when your face is smiling that you feel better so I was happy to see those smiles.
2. When I was traveling about this afternoon I had a number of people who simply stared at me or scowled in my direction in response to my smile.
3. This evening, after supper, I took my dog for a walk. As one of the neighbors passed me in his car I waved and smiled. He gave me a hesitant wave but no smile. Considering we have never actually met I understand. Another of my neighbors jogged past us and I said hello and smiled again. She returned the greeting and the smile as she moved quickly by. Finally, a mother and her 2 children rode their bikes past us. One of the kids was riding with her and the other was working to pedal her own chariot. I waved and smiled but she didn’t even have time to see me as she diligently focused on keeping all three of them upright and moving.
