I was nosing around a couple of clothing stores on this 85th Day of Campaign Smile as I debated whether to get my new company’s logo put on some existing shirts or buy a few new ones. The responses I got from the folks when I was shopping were 100% positive. It was very encouraging, even for someone who stays primarily positive…
1. An employee working near the front door in one of the shops gave me a fantastic smile when she saw my smile. That’s sure to carry over to other shoppers!
2. One customer, a taller man, looked me over real thoroughly, smile and all, before nodding to me. He was not going as far as smiling but I did seem to pass inspection enough to get a nod.
3. There was a particularly interesting exchange taking place between the man in front of me at the register and the cashier. He was trying to be casual, sounding as if he was in a bar instead of at her place of work, and trying to ask her out. As he nervously dodged around the issue trying to find the right words she was very patient with him and continued to ring up my sale. I wasn’t sure whether she was interested or not but I felt sorry for him. As thankful as I am for my beautiful wife I am also thankful for the small favor of not having to go through that torture of dating. In the end she handed him a piece of paper to write down his number but she maintained a winning smile throughout. Together or apart I hope they both find the happiness they want.
With 2 more smiles today Campaign Smile now boasts 269 smiles created in the world. Making the world a little happier, one smile at a time.
